Resolved Question: Why do you want Don't Ask Don't Tell to be repealed if you don't even support the military in the first place?

Why do you think the DADT repeal is being worked on at the moment? Why do you think it's everywhere in the media right now? Why do you think people that are not involved in the queer community think that once gays can marry and serve openly in the military, the battle is over and everyone will have equal rights? Do you think that extending these rights to certain sexual minorities is the best way to go about these things, or eliminating all "special rights" so that there is no privilege? For example, so gays and lesbians can serve openly. What about those involved with paraphilia? Fetishes? BDSM? Those attracted to cross dressers? Do you think that DADT covers all of those categories? Or will the oppression continue? Furthermore, so now gays and straights can serve openly. In being gay or straight, you have a constant, fixed, mainstream gender identity: male or female, who likes other males or females. What about people who do not identify as either, or as both, or are queer? Why should we be excited and happy when the oppression continues? Yes, our society is slowly becoming more accepting of gays and lesbians. But of course, society only approves of those that are monosexual, cisgendered, most likely white, and able-bodied. When will the oppression end? Where is the que[re]volution? Or do you not care now that you've gotten your rights, and your little foot in the door of privilege and power? Did you even fucking read the question? I am not ignorant; I'm trying to get some people who are willing to actually think about these things, not just fling the label of ignorance around like it's some sort of joke. It's clear that you haven't actually thought about oppression beyond your own little scope of sexual identity -- and in that sense, quit tacking on the T in your little acronym, because it's apparent that you don't really care about the trans community at all, just the gay and lesbians.
