Open Question: why is it that that some odd people develop the most peculiar fetishes?

Ive heard of people that like feet,people that like to dress up as furry an!mals and masquerade about,people that like to see other people smoke cigarettes.Please tell me the reasoning behind these bizarre fascinations.
