Open Question: Should foot fetish be so weird?

Ok so I have had a foot fetish for as long as I can remember. I am a down to earth guy.....a lot of girls find me attractive, I love everything a normal person does but as soon as a I mention that I have a foot fetish some girls or even guys look at me in disgust. Now....I really didnt chose to have a foot fetish....for me its perfectly normal and healthy, just an added bonus in my eyes. People say why do you have a foot fetish....I answer them by saying, well if you asked someone who is gay why they are gay what is their answer? its the same for me. Its more socially accepted to be gay but to have a foot fetish you are all of a sudden a "weirdo" even though people male or female who have a foot fetish is more common than being gay yet being gay is more accepted. I dont understand. Do you ever think foot fetish will ever become less of a taboo or more accepted as a non weird sexual intrest. I have done studies on this and was shocked myself to find how common a foot fetish is....but not many foot lovers come out the closet due to fears of being ridiculed. this must stop or do people just think this is seriously wrong?
