Default Open Question: Inconsistencies in 50 Shades of Grey..?

I know, its a terrible book, terrible set of books... etc etc... I just have a few questions on how some inconsistencies I've noticed could slip by the editors/publishers ... please don't comment on how terrible the books were, we've established that already.(1) a lot of time is spent early on describing how unmanageable Ana's hair is... then come book two she is "artfully" placing it this way and that (well before the private hairdresser makes an appearance...)(2) The author uses the word 'besieged" twice in one paragraph. This is when Ana is still working at Claytons: "Saturday at the store is a nightmare. We are besieged by do-it-yourselfers wanting to spruce up their homes. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton and John and Patrick?the two other part-timers?and I are besieged by customers." ..... is this even ALLOWED?(3) In the first 3 or 4 scenes of intimacy... there is an allusion to a foot fetish of Ana's. But this is never developed, just plopped in there randomly, but two or three times.(4) Christian says he learned the piano at the age of 6 in order to fit into his perfect family... he wanted to be perfect for them. Then we hear that at 15 he is getting into fights and getting expelled from several schools... was he totally over his perfect family and their millions of dollars 9 years later?(5) His parents have a mansion... she's a doctor and he's a lawyer... is that enough to keep up with that kind of lifestyle? There are other things I've picked up but can't remember now. I guess my overall question is - I can understand when a terrible piece of writing is taken on by a publisher because of the belief that it will sell ... but isn't it their job to weed out inconsistencies and holes? If it isn't, and anything goes, I think I'm going to write me a book.
