Open Question: what is foot fetish? what other kinds are out there?

i don't understand what fetish means, so i don't really understand what foot fetish means. i guess i'm just going to focus on the foot here..so what is it? do people stare at other people's feet, similar to how men checking out women's mammalians and buttocks and vice versa? i don't understand how attraction has anything to do with people's feet. i just don't get it. i mean, you would look at people's faces and other things, but feet? how does that kind of association occur? this must be unhealthy? and so.. women who unknowingly wear flip flops out in public--which they do all the time; heck, everybody does--they send out the wrong message?
