Open Question: Broke up with girlfriend but already want her back, should i try to?

So my (now former) girlfriend and I had been together for about a year and a half. She was my first everything basically, first serious relationship and all. Anyways like any couple we had our up's and downs but since last summer things started to change. We got into arguments almost every time we hung out, and over stupid things usually. she would make jabs at me and hurt me emotionally, then tell me it was all in my head and that i was looking at things the wrong way. She always saw our relationship like i was her bitch and she was my master, telling me what i could and could not do. She's so darn cute and adorable though I would always fall for her looks, and she found out about my foot fetish and used it to seduce me and keep me hooked. Our relationship fell into a cycle of monotony and we basically did the same 5 things over and over. A few days ago at a concert, she was being a mega bitch to me and her friends that she brought. It wasn't even a concert i wanted to go to but I was the only person that could bring her. After awhile i was tired and wanted to sit down, So she agreed we could sit down to watch the next band, only to stand back up and grab my hand to make me get up. She was mad that i wouldnt get up and threw her bag at me and told me "well if you won't get up with me you can just watch my stuff then" in a bratty attitude. So i took the bag and tossed it aside. This infuriated her so much that she ran back towards me an gave me a good whack on the face. Everyone saw too and I felt so emasculated and shocked at the same time. I finally decided i had put up with enough and told her i couldn't be in a relationship with her anymore but wanted her in my life as a friend. Well we go to the movies (the same day i break up with her) and we talk and it's not too bad, but smelling her perfume, and seeing her smile reminds me of all the good times we had and now im the one that wants her back. I don't know if i left a bad relationship or if i screwed up big time.
