Open Question: Would you feel more comfortable taking off your sandals outside in public if someone else did?

No, I'm not some creepy guy with a foot fetish. I love going barefoot and hardly ever wear shoes, and I've always wondered why people wear shoes so often especially when sitting outside on a hot day. This afternoon I was sitting at a table outside while reading a book with my feet on the arm of a chair. A woman sat at a table across from me. She was middle aged and was wearing sandals. I happened to look her way a few minutes later and was happily surprised to see that she had taken off her sandals and had her feet on the chair in front of her. It was really cool knowing that she was influenced (at least I think she was) by me and my bare feet.
