Open Question: I think my son has a foot fetish?

I'm 34 and I'm the proud mother of my son Rian who is 8 years old. Well my friend was over and her feet are quite large (size 13 US womens) and she took off her shoes which had quite a smell due to her just having had a workout. My son apparently dropped something under the couch and was reaching under to get it but his face was buried in her shoes. He's only 8 years old and I looked under the couch and there was nothing there although he said that it's still under there. The thing I'm worried about is if he does have a foot fetish if that girls don't accept that. But her shoes really did reek...they were disgustingly bad and even she admitted that but his face was buried in her shoes. This is the second sign that I've seen, when he was 7 he stole borrowed someone's shoes for a day and he locked his bedroom door for the first time ever. All though I kn0cked and he opened right away and there was nothing suspicious going on. The shoes he borrowed smelt really bad and were quite dirty and they were a girl's pair of shoes. I'm not going to confront him about it because I remember how embarrassed I was when I was 15 and my parents caught me having sex mid-orgasm. It took me months to get over that. I'm not going to talk to him about it because I'm not sure if it really is a fetish, BUT should I just wait it out? It's always been my plan just to wait it out until I see an immediate sign, but is this a good idea?
