Open Question: our marriage is in trouble?

My wife and i have been having marriage trouble for a while. My wife and i were needing this long talk which i admit i kept putting off due to me being worried how bad we really were. We have a close male friend mainly my best mate but my wife gets on just as well with him we've been trying to fix him up with our next door neighbour of whom he has seen once but now not very interested due to the age gap. He told my wife a few months ago he had a foot fetish and that my wife's feet were beautiful and so were my neighbours but she never told me because how i might react. He said he didn't tell me because he thought it was a bit weird The other day i found some texts on his phone from my wife as follows :Wife: If you get with our next door neighbour it will stop me liking you so much lol.Friend: Im not sure which way to take that.Wife: I wish Rob (me) was more like you.Friend: Nothing could happen because i don't want anything to come between you me and Rob.Wife: If i wasn't with Rob my life would be different.Wife: Sorry about that just ignore me i was feeling vulnerable.I confronted my wife and she says she was feeling down and had no one else to talk to my best mate is like every girls best friend when he read the texts he was shocked so my wife stopped. She says we need to move on shes told me the truth and i have to believe her. I just feel so hurt and not sure what to do i sat down with them both and we had a talk and maybe it was a misunderstanding but i feel so hurt why doesn't she understand.
