Open Question: Why does this girl play 'footsie' with me?

I'm in high school. In my math class, every 4 students is a group. The girl that I'm facing is one of my friends, but we're not really close. I don't know why nobody ever notices, but she always plays footsie with me... Not that I play too, but she always takes off her Toms and plays footsie with my legs (I wear shorts almost all the time). Why is that? Our teacher never lectures, and let's us just work on homework the rest of the period. So, she uses this time to joke around with me, talk, or footsie? Honestly, I don't think she's flirting because she just seems like the friend-zone type. But at the same time, it feels awkward and arousing? I don't have a major foot fetish, but doesn't this seem off? Any advice or thoughts on this?
