Open Question: Is this a new trend or just a painful fad?

I've been working in the mall at one of those cell phone & cell phone accessory kiosks and I can't help but notice how more and more yovng women are teetering around, balancing gingerly on their pointed tip-toes. The kiosk I work at is near Nordstroms, and surrounded by several designer boutiques and one of those MAC cosmetic stores, so I get to people watch, and a lot of them are really hot yovng women.The thing is, it appears the designer accessories that many of these hot yovng women are now featuring are:Bunions, Hammertoes and Corns, Oh My!Is this a new trend or just a painful fad? btw I dont have a foot fetish its just i can't help but notice how all these hot yovng girls, who start off strutting their stuff in their sexy shoes, end up teetering on short hobbling steps because their poor feet are obviously killing them. Some of them couldn't be any older then 16 or 17.
