Open Question: Denied rights as a bisexual.?

Is it right to be denied a job for sake of being bisexual? A mate of mine recently applied for a job at Myer Australia, but an ex-friend of his leaked the secret to the team there that he's bisexual, and now they denied him the right, chased him out of the store screaming "Get out of here fag! We don't take on your kind". My friend is upset as hell, and if I'm not mistaken, it's a very bad form of discrimination to say those kinds of things. I spoke to the police, who rolled their friggin' eyes and said it happens, get used to it (So much for them being supporters of the gay and lesbian rallys in Australia). Why the hell is Australia so against different sexuality? Why the hell is it so discriminate about it, and fetishes even! I've heard of people being arrested because their sexual fetish preference is something harmful (considered "morally wrong" and "unacceptable for todays standards" by police) like a foot fetish.
